The III International Premonition Film Festival has opened in Chelyabinsk

The opening ceremony of the III International Premonition Film Festival took place in Chelyabinsk on Friday, September 18. The festival is focused on the usage of new technologies in filmmaking. The films of the festival represent the cinema of the future, filmmakers reflections about what our world can look like, experiments with formats and technologies.




The ceremony took place at the Znamya Cinema. The guests were presented with a dance number with a demonstration of the main prize of the festival - a figure of a meteorite created by famous Zlatoust masters, symbolizing the movement forward. The Vice-Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Vadim Evdokimov and the Director of the International Premonition Film Festival Angelina Golikova made a welcoming speech to the guests.




The festival opened with the premiere of the film Closed Doors. This project became the winner of the Chelyabinsk Pitching of Debutants in 2019. The authors - Stepan Gavrilov and Semyon Ryabukha (St. Petersburg) received 400 thousand rubles for the implementation of the idea and shot their film in Chelyabinsk. The second winning project of the pitching was a film about confrontation between two hockey teams - this film called Ural Derby is now being prepared for its release on Yandex platform.




Moreover, the winners of the Chelyabinsk Pitching of Debutants-2020 were announced at the ceremony. It was the Street Lighting project, which has already been partially filmed in Zlatoust, received a monetary reward. The jury also highlighted the project Sing, which received support in promotion and production. This year the total prize fund of the pitching amounted 1.5 million rubles. 


 

Let us remind that during the Premonition Film Festival Chelyabinsk residents will see five competitive and five documentary films, and another three films will be shown as a part of special screenings. All films can be viewed for free. In order to watch the films you just need to register on the film festival website and choose a seat in the hall. When visiting a movie theatre, remember about keeping a social distance and wearing a mask.


On Saturday, September 19, Chelyabinsk residents will watch such films as Yura the Musician, Yards and Closed Doors. Screenings will be held at the Pushkin Cinema (Pushkina St., 64), the Znamya Cinema (Kirova St., 112) and the Impulse Film Centre (50-letiya VLKSM St., 16). On Sunday, September 20, it will be possible to watch the program of documentary and feature films and the film Fairy starring Konstantin Khabensky.
