Chelyabinsk will host the III Premonition International Film Festival

The III Premonition International Film Festival will be held in Chelyabinsk from 18 to 25 of September. Premonition focuses on the use of modern technologies in film production. The films of the festival are films of the future, cinematographers' reflections on what our world can become, experiments with formats and technologies. 

Visitors will enjoy five competition and five documentary films, and three more films will be shown as part of special screenings. The festival will be launched with the premiere of the film Closed Doors. In 2019, this project won the Chelyabinsk Pitching of Debutants. The authors, Stepan Gavrilov and Semyon Ryabukha (St. Petersburg) received 400.000 rubles to implement the idea and shot the film in Chelyabinsk. 

 

In 2020, the total pitching prize fund is 1.5 million rubles. A new nomination "Smart City" has also appeared. The results of the Pitching-2020 will be announced during the film festival. 

The festival program includes competition films, such as Yards (dir. Andrey Korytko, 2020) about the realization of a dream, Pirate's Soul (dir. Aisyuak Yumagulov, 2020) – an exciting movie about the transmigration of souls, Happiness in an Envelope (dir. Alexander Khachko, Sergey Berlov, Maxim Demin, 2020) – a film that allows you to go back in time and ponder over the meaning of the soul, Fairy (dir. Anna Melikyan, 2019) – a film about a VR games creator, starring Konstantin Khabenskiy and Ingeborga Dapkunaite. Gilbert's Eighth Problem (dir. Ametkhan Magomedov, 2020) – a comedy from the life of scientists. 

Svetlana Muzychenko, documentary and feature film director, Associate Professor of VGIK, will be the chairman of the festival jury. 

Visitors will see a documentary Yura the Musician (dir. Pavel Selin, 2019) about the all-time leader of the music band DDT Yuri Shevchuk. This is probably the biggest recent project about the Russian rock legend. The filming process lasted for 11 years. Yuri Shevchuk and DDT from 2007 to 2018 are shown in the film. The film crew stayed with the band during several tours in dozens of towns; they visited the DDT studio and the village where Shevchuk writes his poems. The movie includes the fragments of Yuri Shevchuk and the director Pavel Selin's conversations over the years, the poet's musings about the past, the present and the future of Russia and the whole world. 

Six workshops are scheduled for the film festival program: "How to sell your idea" (by Anastasia Bezruk, the producer of the Premonition Film Festival ), " TV director's work" (by director Ella Tukhareli), "Working with online platforms" (by Kirill Alyokhin, producer, director and screenwriter), "Development of Regional Cinema" (by Tatiana Tretyakova, producer, director and screenwriter), "VR for journalists and PR-managers" (by Georgiy Molodtsov, expert in VR-content, director). 

Sergey Miroshnichenko, a famous documentary director and Emmy Award winner (the series Born in the USSR, River of Life. Valentin Rasputin, Rings of the World) will host a workshop "Modern Documentary Cinema". All workshops will be available online. The links will be published in the social networks of the film festival shortly before the events.

As part of the Premonition Film Festival, a meeting with the actress and TV host Ekaterina Shpitsa (Iron Ivan, Yolki 1914, Yolki 5, The Crimean Bridge. Made with Love!, the series Realnye Patsany and Polyarniy). 

This year, the guests of the festival will again be able to see the VR-program that many people loved. VR (virtual reality) - a world created by technical means, transmitted to people through their sensations: sight, hearing, touch. VR allows the viewer to briefly turn off the world around them and plunge into the world created by the authors.
 
In 2020, Premonition will be held at three venues: the Znamya cinema (Kirova st., 112), Impulse Film Center(50-letiya VLKSM st., 16) and the Pushkin Cinema (Pushkina st., 64).
